What is Dhammaloka?
‘Dhammaloka’ means ‘Realm of the Dharma’. Although based in Sarnath, it is world-wide. Dhammaloka is an International Buddhist Study Centre, comprising a qualified and experienced team of Western and Indian members of the Western Buddhist Order / Trailokya Bauddha Mahasangha founded by Urgyen Sangharakshita an Englishman.
Our aim is to cherish the Dhamma by enhancing and encouraging Dhamma study, teaching meditation and conducting introductory courses on Buddhism, lectures, seminars, workshops, retreats and guided pilgrimage to the Buddhist holy places. We would also like to provide facilities of hospitality, translation and publication of Buddhist literature, as well as medical and higher educational services to local communities.
